Trumpeter Chris Botti is a gifted instrumentalist, a talented composer, and a charismatic performer who--since the release of his first solo album in 1995--has created a series of recordings that have made him a virtual genre-of-one in the realm of contemporary jazz. Through a singular combination of lush atmospheres and thoughtful improvisations, he has earned both critical acclaim and mainstream adoration. Matching his prodigious talent with soft-spoken charisma and striking good looks, Botti has become of the most popular new arrivals of the jazz genre.
In 1999, Chris joined Sting for two and a half years of roadwork, as the featured soloist on the Brand New Day World Tour. Working with band mate and multi-instrumentalist/producer Kipper, Chris's Columbia label debut Night Sessions-inspired by the sounds of the late-night European club-scene-was written and recorded during a two and half-month break on the tour. The album became a breakthrough contemporary jazz hit upon its release in October 2001. Night Sessions - Live In Concert DVD, was released in August 2002. Taped live at the historic El Rey Theater in Los Angeles , "Chris Botti and Friends" featured the trumpeter with his own expert road band plus guest appearances by Sting and Shawn Colvin.
Chris released his latest CD, A Thousand Kisses Deep in the fall of 2003. Botti immediately hit the road with saxophonist Dave Koz for a 36 city across the United States .
The year 2004 has kept Chris very busy. In January, he was invited by his friend and former employer Sting to be the opening act for the first leg of Sacred Love Tour, which would play a total of 34 sold-out shows in North America . The tour enabled Chris to showcase his music and the band to the legions of Sting fans. In May, Botti was named by People Magazine as one the “50 Most Beautiful People in the World for 2004.” He has begun preparing for a syndicated radio show called “Chill with Chris Botti.” The show is set to air in early summer in the US .  Chris has also been busy touring with his band having just concluded a successful tour of Japan and preparing to record his next CD due for release in the fall of 2004. He will start recording this eagerly anticipated release in June and hopes to have it completed before he travels to Tbilisi for the jazz festival.
